WHAT: Kick-off for 73rd year of the Christmas Bureau. Sign up to adopt, volunteer or donate at
Intake of families needing help runs Oct. 31 – Nov. 8 at Let’s Help and Antioch Family Life Center. Volunteers match adopters with families in the hope that adopters will contact their family by Thanksgiving so that families will know they will have gifts for children this year.
WHEN: 3 p.m., Monday, Oct. 13
WHERE: 6323 SW 48th Place (FYI-this is a private home)
WHO: Connie and Pat Michaelis. United Way Board Chairman Kent Townsend and United Way president and CEO Miriam Krehbiel will speak.
Children will have a chance to visit with Santa Claus and receive a small gift.
WHY: Since 1941, the Christmas Bureau has been brightening the holidays for families in need. There is a great need for adopters as nearly 3,000 families are expected to register for assistance.
- Churches, companies and our community partners often adopt large numbers of families.
- Individuals and families are needed to adopt those in need.
- Volunteers are needed to help register with families and match them with adopters.
- Cash donations are needed as well so that we may still provide receive gifts for families who are not adopted.
