Campaign coordinators always have some great ideas for campaign kick-offs and fundraisers. We thought you might like to hear about some of the different events that companies have already run.
- Security Benefit has a week full of creative events, including a Balloon Pop. Employees and United Way helpers blew up 400 balloons, each of which contained a tiny slip of paper. While most were just a simple message, some could be exchanged for prizes. Participants had to pop their chosen balloon to find out if they won.
- The Golf Ball Frenzy, an annual event at Kansas Neurological Institute, involved dumping hundreds of golf balls from a truck and waiting for a winner to hit the target. Multiple entries win a $50 prize! Balls cost $1 each or 6 for $5. For more information, contact Todd Han. You can see video of this year’s drop on the United Way Facebook page.
- Another State of Kansas agency, the Department of Administration, raised money through participation on a downtown Topeka ghost tour. Participants got up close and personal with local paranormal happenings while learning a little bit about United Way too. For information on how she set up the ghost tour, contact Coordinator Lauri Lemen.
Let us know what your favorite campaign activities are and we may feature them in a future newsletter. Pictures are always a plus!
