Tuesday, January 26, the Arab Shrine of Topeka presented 4,500 Arab Shrine Circus tickets to the United Way of Greater Topeka. The donation will take place at the United Way of Greater Topeka office, 1315 S.W. Arrowhead Road. The tickets, with a retail value of almost $50,000 will allow area children affiliated with United Way agencies to enjoy the circus.

“Children especially enjoy all the excitement the circus has to offer,” said Paul
Honaker, Arab Shrine of Topeka Assistant Rabban, and one of this year’s organizers of the
circus. “We are proud to be able to make this donation of tickets to the United Way
affiliated member agencies and the children they serve.” According to Miriam Krehbiel, president and CEO of the United Way of Greater Topeka, “this generous donation of tickets from the Arab Shrine Circus ensures that children, who might not have had a chance to see a circus live, will be able to enjoy this great experience with their family.”

The 77th annual Arab Shrine Circus takes place in Topeka on February 18-21, and
will include tigers, elephants, plus many other exciting acts. Again this year is the Family
Fun Night on Thursday, February 18, which includes the full-length circus with no
intermission, thus allowing families to get school children home early. All seats for the
Family Fun Night performance of the circus are general admission with the circus running
from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Part of the Shriners’ mission is a commitment to providing attractive, quality
programs and services for families and friends in a spirit of fun, fellowship and social
camaraderie. In keeping with their mission, the Shriners’ donation of 5,000 tickets to the
United Way of Greater Topeka will allow children served by the many United Way agencies
and member partners in Topeka and the surrounding communities to attend the 77th annual
show.
