At United Way we pride ourselves on making lasting change in the community. However, we realize that when basic human needs are not met people are not able to focus on making those long-term changes in their own lives. Every year we support our neighbors in crisis through our Basic Needs areas: Food Assistance, Rent & Utility Assistance, Access to Healthcare and Prescription Assistance, and Safety from Domestic Violence.
This year our Basic Needs investment panels will run from December 7 to December 16 with a variety of times to participate, including a weekend opportunity that has been requested by previous volunteers. Investment panels allow our donors to determine how our available dollars are distributed to help our community. Decisions made by the volunteers are final and not subject to review by staff or the board of directors.
