In addition to 1,100 pounds collected on site, Double Diamond Sponsor Prairie Band Casino and Resort collected food for the entire month of December. We just got this email from Harvesters:
I wanted to give you the final results for the Prairie Band Casino Donation and United Rocks grand total! Yesterday the driver picked up an additional 4,773 pounds of food so that brings the grand total to: 11,994 pounds & $28.06 which is a total impact of 10,079 meals
Breakdown of Sources:
Prairie Band Casino Sponsorship Food Drive = 10,882 pounds
Concert Donations = 614 pounds & $28.06
Hy-Vee Donations = 498 pounds
Please note the amount from Prairie Band listed above is just for the amount that Harvesters received directly which was 1/3 of the total collected, this drive collected over 32,000 pounds and benefited three agencies! What an amazing partner!
Concert-goers also got to mingle with Star Wars costumers from the 501st Legion. The Legion uses their costuming skills and the power of the Force to enhance charity events all across the country. It was great to have them there to entertain and pump up the crowd for the show.
Thanks to all the sponsors and attendees!
We also ran a special raffle to support bringing Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to all the children ages birth to 5 in Shawnee County. Supersonic Music donated a beautiful acoustic guitar that all the band members signed—Robert Berry even used it on stage to play the December People version of O Holy Night! Raffle tickets were sold for $25 , which is also the cost of providing one book every month to a child for an entire year. Our lucky winners (we’re still trying to get their names) are pictured below.
Just because of those raffle donations, 22 kids will have a year’s worth of books delivered to their mailbox when the initiative kicks off in 2017. Thank you!
