Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for Basic Needs Grants

Dec. 6, 2019 TOPEKA, KANS.—Charitable organizations interested in receiving a United Way of Greater Topeka (UWGT) grant for Basic Needs Assistance should plan to attend an information meeting on January 22, 2020, at the Shawnee County Health Department. United Way will be releasing a Request for Proposals (RFP) to provide grants for assistance in the basic needs categories of food assistance, rent and utilities assistance, access to health care and prescription assistance and safety from domestic violence. Grants will be in effect from July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021.

United Way of Greater Topeka continues to support basic needs assistance in the community while pursuing long-term sustainable change in the areas of education, health and financial stability. The RFP process is open to eligible charitable organizations as designated by IRS Code 170 that provide services in Shawnee and Jefferson counties (contact United Way for specific details).

Information Meeting

Wednesday, January 22, 2020, from 8:00 to 11:00 am at the Shawnee County Health Department Training Room A, 2600 SW East Circle Drive, in Topeka. UWGT staff will review the RFP, answer questions and explain the online application system and process (e-CImpact). To ensure adequate materials are available, please RSVP for the information meeting by e-mailing Juliet McDiffett at jmcdiffett@unitedwaytopeka.org.

RFPs will be available to organizations via the e-CImpact online community investment management system at the end of the day on January 22, 2020. The RFP will also be posted on the United Way website.

Online Proposal Process

New Applicants:  New applicants must sign-up for an account in the e-CImpact online community investment system. Go to https://agency.e-cimpact.com/login.aspx?org=18530F and click on the “Click here to create a new account” green button and follow the steps from there. UWGT strongly encourages new applicants to attend the January 22 information meeting.

Existing/Previous Applicants: The launch page for e-CImpact is: https://www.unitedwaytopeka.org/work/e-cimpact/. Click on the link for the agency log-in and save that link in favorites.

To make sure each agency receives important updates and communications, the agency representative should check contact information and update the staff contacts in their profile. Agencies are responsible for keeping this information up to date. UWGT will use this system to alert agencies to community investment grant details and timelines (when reporting opens, deadlines, etc.). Please delete accounts for staff who have left the organization and add new accounts for those who need access to reporting. Please ensure that the appropriate staff person is identified as the primary contact.
