2/1/2016–URGENT INFORMATION FOR WALMART PHARMACY CUSTOMERS:
Plan to show your existing card or a new card if you fill prescriptions at Walmart. The stores have deleted the existing Familywize account information from their system, and users should be aware that the old card will not automatically apply.
According to FamilyWize: “Walmart confirmed to us Wednesday afternoon that they are inactivating all stored discount card information for all of its customers from their records (profiles). These at-risk individuals will no longer have access to FamilyWize negotiated pricing unless they present a new or existing FamilyWize Card to the Walmart pharmacists.”
Replacement cards can be obtained at United Way of Greater Topeka, 1315 SW Arrowhead Road between 8 am and 5 pm, online at FamilyWize.org, or via the FamilyWize app.
The FamilyWize card is a free and easy to use discount card that has been able to save Topeka residents an average of 35.8% off of their medication. The FamilyWize card is for those that are uninsured and underinsured and is accepted by 95% of pharmacies. The card can be used on all FDA approved generic and brand name medications. There are no forms to fill out, waiting periods or registrations. Anyone in your family, your work, your church or your neighborhood can use it immediately. The price of your medication may vary depending on the medication and the pharmacy. To take a look at participating pharmacies located near you and to find out how much your prescription would be, go online to www.familywize.org and use the Drug Price Lookup. FamilyWize cards can be printed online at their website or picked up at the United Way of Greater Topeka.
