Thank you to everyone who supported reading in our community by donating at Topeka Gives 2017! You provided a year’s worth of books–that’s one every month–to 92 Shawnee County kids!
Thank you for supporting reading and literacy in Shawnee County! United Way and the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library are excited to bring the Imagination Library to our community. To learn more about Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, visit their website. If you are a parent or guardian wanting to enroll a child, please visit unitedwaytopeka.org/imagination.
While the program is free to participants, regardless of income, local partners, like United Way and the Topeka & Shawnee
County Public Library, must cover postage
and administrative costs of the program
(about $25 a year for one child).
THANK YOU to the more than 500 individuals and organizations that have made the launch of this initiative possible. With more than $300,000 raised, we are now able to enroll children in the Imagination Library! But this effort is not only for today’s children…
Because we believe in creating long-term sustainable change, we have a goal of raising
$1 million to sustain this program for generations to come.
Now we ask YOU to make an extraordinary investment
in the future of our community!
You can help ensure the success of the Imagination Library right here by giving online anytime.
- Just $25 provides a year of books for one child.
- $125 provides 5 years of books for one child.
Or, If you are interested in making a major investment in long-term sustainability of the Imagination Library and early literacy in our community, please contact Wendy Coonrod at firstname.lastname@example.org or 785.228.5123.
More books in more homes means more children ready to succeed when they walk through the door on the first day of kindergarten!
