Thank you for supporting reading and literacy in Shawnee County! United Way and the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library are excited to bring the Imagination Library to our community. To learn more about Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, visit their website.
While the program is free to participants, regardless of income, local partners, like United Way and the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library, must cover postage and administrative costs of the program (about $25 a year for one child).
THANK YOU to the more than 500 individuals and organizations that have made the launch of this initiative possible. With more than $300,000 raised, we are now able to enroll children in the Imagination Library! But this effort is not only for today’s children.
Because we believe in creating long-term sustainable change, we have a goal of raising
$1 million to sustain this program for generations to come.
Now we ask YOU to make an extraordinary investment
in the future of our community!
Community members can help us ensure the success of the Imagination Library right here by contributing through a traditional donation or a simple and secure text-to-give. The text-to-give option works well for anyone who can afford to sponsor a year of books for one child. Simply text READ25 to 52000 and the $25 donation will be added to your mobile bill. You can also give online anytime.
If you are interested in making a more substantial investment in long-term sustainability of the Imagination Library and early literacy in our community, please contact Angel Romero at email@example.com or 785.228.5128.
