Successful Connections a Program of the United Way of Greater Topeka will be hosting a Cuddle Blanket Project During the Nancy Perry Day of Caring in September! As you might know, Successful Connections meets with pregnant woman/families with small children in Shawnee County to connect them with free resources, parenting information, and ongoing support. Our staff utilizes the cuddle blankets made as an “ice breaker” and gift when we meet with families who have recently delivered their baby. Our staff has heard multiple times that this is sometimes the first and only gift they have received for their newborn baby. To be able to continue giving these blankets to families in need, we are asking for your help! We are needing donations in the form of money, fleece, and volunteers to continue this project.
If you would like to donate fleece and have more questions please contact United Way -Successful Connections at 785-272-0878 and staff can assist you with your questions.
All fleece donations can be dropped off at the United Way of Greater Topeka which is located at 1315 SW Arrowhead Road.
You can also help by volunteeringwith Successful Connections to make Cuddle Blankets. Events are held throughout the year, to see when these events are held you can look at the Successful Connections Agency Page on our Get Connected Site.
